HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WORSHIP FLAGS

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ·       Always hold you worship flags by the rod on the ribbon part- not on the silk. This is a very fine 5 mm habotai silk and while it is the industry standard because of the lightweight nature it flows beautifully; it is susceptible to snags and pulls in the fabric so store them with care and don’t toss them on the ground -remember these are tools used to worship.
  • ·       I advise not letting others use them but that is entirely up to you. Worship flags from pervading praise are spirit lead dyed and are one of a kind and unique to each individual. There is an anointing that comes through the process of prayer in the entire creation of your flags. This is why I recommend the above.
  •         Feel free to flag as slow or fast as you want. They were meant to be used and are very durable, but they are made of silk. If you ever notice a loose hem, pinhole, or thread, place a drop of this light fabric glue like fray check, or fray blocker; available at Wal-Mart, craft or fabric stores. Anywhere you see loose threads trim them carefully but be diligent as the can cause pulls in the silk. You can also use this product to reinforce bottom corners of your flags before use.
  • ·       When storing your flags, I personally prefer to hang them on a pants hanger being careful to hang from ribbon area not the silk. Alternately they can be rolled together and tied (much like the way you most likely received them) you can roll several together to store in large bundles or individual pairs. Just don’t wind them up too tightly and store in a dry place!

o   Your flags come with flex rods as stated storing in a teardrop shape is no longer recommended for long term, only for travel purposes. If using a flag bag please use one that is open ended or has a drawstring closure. Keep zippers and Velcro away from your silk flags!

  • ·       Do not wet or dry clean your flags or remove the rods and throw then in the washing machine.

·      You can iron your flags-- avoid ironing the finished edges. (typically found at the bottom of flags) the thread used is not heat resistant. I recommend spraying lightly with a mist of water before steam ironing. Iron just as needed - silk can be ironed. It brings back the brilliance of the colors after a fresh iron. Use an iron with a Teflon coated bottom or similar slick surface and not a stainless-steel bottom. Your flags will always look best with. Fresh ironing. Storing them correctly should keep them from wrinkling and you having to re iron.
